A Day at Champneys Spa Resort Tring

Hello all!

The past weekend I visited the Champneys spa resort in Tring for a day of relaxation with my mum and I had such a fabulous time! I was completely blown away by how lovely it was.

As a quick overview, my ratings for the following /10:

Value: 9
Cleanliness: 10
Food: 9
Service:10
Facilities:10
Overall Exp:10
Likeliness to return: 10

I bought the day as a gift for my mum from www.buyagift.com. I purchased the 2-4-1 relaxation day for £160. This day didn't include any treatments but did include a buffet hot and cold lunch and access to all facilities, all day. I personally thought this was really good value for money and I shall explain why further down!

Check-in was from 9:00 am onwards. Mother and I arrived at 8:55 am as we wanted to get the most from our day! We drove into the most beautiful grounds and parked extremely easily. As we entered the lobby we went straight to the reception desk where we were greeted and sat down to go through a few details. We had to fill out a little card and provide some card details, as they use a cashless system. They charge everything to your 'identity card' (a little card that has your name on it with a unique ID number) and at the end of the day, they provide you with a receipt that you sign, and it charges automatically to the card you provided. This is great as means you don't need to carry your purse on you! We were provided with our robes and flip-flops (included in our package) in a little Champneys bag and a member of staff took us to a beautiful seating area, where we could help ourselves to complimentary tea/coffee/juice and breakfast (this consisted of fruit, some yoghurt compotes, and little breakfast canapes!) Once we had finished, a member of staff then gave us a quick 5 minute tour around the grounds to show us where everything was (fab, because we definitely would have got lost otherwise!)

Clean towels can be retrieved from most of the rooms, so you can use and dispose of them as you need! The changing rooms were clean and tidy and contained lockers for you to keep your valuables in. They had GHD hair dryers and straighteners at the mirrors along with their own brand cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. I mean you really didn't need to bring anything other than gym/swim/travel wear with you.

The resort has 3 jacuzzi's, a huge thalasso pool, restaurant, nail bar, hair salon, physiotherapist, Pool, gym, exercise studios, health and wellbeing center, marine and wellbeing spa and the usual massage and facial treatments you'd expect. We were able to get a free mini facial also which I thought was great. We spent the day mozying around the thalasso pool and outdoor jacuzzi! The thalasso pool was absolutely huge and had perfect pressure valves and the outdoor jacuzzi was looking out onto the beautiful Champneys grounds! The gardens had little sofa pods you could snooze in (which we did) and there were tennis courts and ping-pong tables dotted around the greens for anyone to use.

Lunch was AMAZING. We arrived at the dining hall and we were shown to our table. There was two huge tables of hot and cold food, all you can eat! As a vegetarian, I'm always worried what will be on offer but there were loads. My personal favorite form the Spanish stew with soy sausage! They had such an abundance of selection I was so impressed and all the food was so tasty.

Throughout the resort are numerous relaxation rooms, filled with water beds and soft fleece blankets! Water fountains are dotted around the resort also to encourage hydration. There is also a little Champneys store in the middle of the resort filled with Champneys beauty products, Radley bags and an assortment of apparel and gift trinkets. The Champneys products were so much cheaper to buy in resort then say, boots! They gave us a deal of 3 products for £12! (the average product retails around £10 so this was a bargain)

Upon checkout, we went back to reception and returned our robes (the flip flops and back we could keep) we signed our receipt and were given a loyalty card which meant we could return again at a fab discount!

Overall I had such a lovely day, I thought what we paid for all the facilities, the service, the food and abundance of grounds to explore, was well worth it. It also wasn't overcrowded at all, I felt like it was actually quiet! There was only ever a handful of guests around at any one time/pool.

So if anyone is considering attending this beautiful resort, I would highly recommend!
